Coaching with me is an empowering alternative (not a replacement) to traditional therapy—a space designed for those seeking focused support from someone who truly gets it. While I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions, my goal is to help you become a better, more sustainable version of yourself.
Using concepts and skills from traditional tools like acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and psychodrama, blended with tools like motivational interviewing, Theatre of the Oppressed, and art-making, I create a dynamic and creative approach tailored to your unique journey. Together, we’ll explore your challenges and unlock your potential for growth and healing. I'll also be a good fit for you if you're interested in interrogating systems, cultural norms, or intersectional-based factors.
Body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) include any repetitive self-grooming behavior that involves biting, pulling, picking, or scraping one’s own hair, skin, lips, cheeks, or nails that can lead to physical damage to the body and have been met with multiple attempts to stop or decrease the behavior. Things to consider:
The goal of health coaching is to understand the internal and external triggers that lead a person to engage in their BFRB, as well as events that reinforce them. The key to good BFRB management is understanding what is driving the behavior for that person, and then offering interventions to address those unique drivers.
